My oldest one is a jap. sys. I bought 9 months before the psx was released in the US.It will not boot anything but Jap. orig. games now, at one time it booted anything useing a plug mod.
I have a LG 8320 B burner and 8x is its slowest burning speed and I have had no probs. at that speed.
