my burners too fast
since theres noone in the psx forum i think this question counts also for this forum:
when i try to make a backup i know u have to burn it at 4x or slower. But i think the slowest speed of my burner is 8x! cuz if i use nero to burn a cd 8x is the lowest speed that i can select! and if i try to burn it with clonecd, i select 2 or 1x, but when it's busy in the burning process it just burns with 8x! please help me cuz now my backup games have extremely long loading times, the sound isnt good and sometimes the game keeps hanging at a loading screen... and i think the problem with the burn speed is the cause of these problems. so is there a way to slow down my burner (maybe some software)? it's a lite-on ltr-24102b and its says on front: 24x10x40x |
what software do you use for playstaion 2 games?
|
Burning at 8X shouldn't be a problem.....
Try using better media and see if that sorts out your problem..... I have been know to burn at 32X on Verbatim CD-R's and they load fine (Although I still burn most everything at 4X-8X) @ y2j !! Use Clone CD for cd based games...... Use RecordNow Max or Primo DVD for dvd based games (if you have a dvd burner that is) |
8x on a liteon should be fine
most brands cdr are fine nowadays but not all try using a diff media |

Its your laser going bad not the media. I doubt that burning with a slower speed will help. I had a similar problem with my psx which was very old, one of the first models to hit the stores. I first believe it was the burning speed also, but I tried it at 1x and it just helped some but not much. Only thing you could do is to try to repair the laser. I am sure if you do a search on Goggle you will get plenty of hits on how to do it. If that doesn't work then only a new laser assembly will save it. However a new laser assembly cost as much as a ps-one so it isn't very cost effective. You might as well just buy a ps2 and mod it so u can play your burned psx games if that is the case (assuming you don't have a ps2 already). By the way if your psx has a port on the back for the gameshark module to plug into then your psx is definately old and you should replace it.

I had same prob on my very old psx, when I got a newer one the probs went away.Lusec is right you need a newer psx or better yet a chipped ps2.

hey i think u guyz right, cuz its true ive got one of the first model psx's that hit the stores..... thankz for the feedback! now i finally know what it is:cool:

My oldest one is a jap. sys. I bought 9 months before the psx was released in the US.It will not boot anything but Jap. orig. games now, at one time it booted anything useing a plug mod.
I have a LG 8320 B burner and 8x is its slowest burning speed and I have had no probs. at that speed. |
