Segagen/Smash Pack Problem

also, you dont need to make the IP.BIN as READ ONLY
just copy 4 IP.BIN
binhack the 4 bins with that 4 IP.BIN
then drop 3 IP.BIN except the one hacked with 1ST_READ.BIN

i test your method(binhack 4 bins)
it selfboot well
but the another problem comes

when i press "RETURN TO MENU" in any game
it will quit (reset my DC)

in the normal Non-boot version
"RETURN TO MENU" will take me to the Rom select Screen

but this Selfboot version take me to DC MAIN Screen
(START,VMU,MUSIC,OPTION)

is there a way to fix it?

i tried to follow what you guys/gals all said . .but i really dont understand ..

when i usually burn dc emulators i just have all the files and i use self boot.. and i have a ip.bin and a 1st read bin.. and some other files and i click on self boot and it makes either a nero image or a discjuggler image..

i think i downlaoed the correct files.. for the gens emulator.. not sure.. i got these files from 2 different people

the first set of files is called genesis.zip (root folder) and inside are these files
title.dat
option.pvr
mde_us.bin
manifest.bin
main.dat
ip.bin.haikei.pvr
ginxfer.bin
ginsu.ini
ginreset.bin
1st_read.bin
0gdtex.pvr

the second set of files (another emulator ) contain these files
mde_us win rar archive (thats the root folder)
the files inside this are :
title.dat
mde_us.bin
manifest.bin
main.dat
ginxfer.bin
ginsu.ini
ginreset.bin
1st_read.bin
0gdtex.pvr

also another rar archive called roms.rar.. this is the same set
stream.mlt
option.pvr
moji01.pvr
manatee.drv
haikei.pvr

i unzipped genesis.zip.. put a rom in there ran selfboot adn didnt work.

then i tried the second set i have .. i unzipped the first folder and then the roms foldre then i put all the roms in the root folder and put a rom in there (a .bin one ) and ran self boot and still didnt make an image.

i tried to follow you guys /gals but i have a hard time understanding you..

i have burned sega master. snes, nes , colecolovision, spectrium, system 16 emualation all on the dreamcast and they all work fine. i have also burned about 3 draemcast games.. delta force one ikuargura super mag neo virtua tennis 2k2.. no i know how to burn .. and if someone woud give me simple step by step it would help me out a lot

im kinda new to burning but i really would love to burn this sega gensis emulaotr.

can someone please explain how to do it like im a dummy?? cuz i really need simple step by step cuz im really new to burning stuff.

Oh and jeff, my selfboot homemade ver. acts exactly as u want it to. Choosing return to menu takes me to the main emu menu instead of the system menu.

I'm having the same questions as impact1357. Can someone give a dummy newbies guide to burning a selfboot for this emu? Or create a sbi to make it easier or something? I'm really confused.
