PS2 games come on cd and dvd's I believe - depends on what game it is. Audio Protections http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?threadid=46159 Can't think straight this morning (new year's day and all that), but you might have something ticked that checks the quality of the cd and determines the optimum speed - can't think of the name right now
