Found some interesting stuff at this site as regards burning at 16x and above.
http://knowhow.cdfreaks.com/article.php?ID=116 The finger of blame seems to be pointing towards the BIOS and/or any chipset drivers you may have installed on your system. Symptoms include your writer's l.e.d. changing colour when you burn - it may be going into "burnproof mode". There's no doubt that with a spec like yours you should be writing at max speed. Just an extra thought - have you got your writer and DVD-Rom connected as recommended by the writer's manual, usually: Primary master = MAIN drive C:\ Primary Slave = not used or extra hard drive. Seconday master = DVD-ROM Secondary Slave = WRITER Mixing hard drives and writers will almost certainly hit performance. Hope this snippet of info helps you out :-) |
