Check the ribbon cable that goes from the eject/power button assembly to the Motherboard is securely in place and that it is the right way around, and that the clip over it is pressed down.

Inspect the cable to see if it is damaged

Check to see if the DVD tray is unobscured so that indeed can open.

It does not sound too good that your board is different than the drawings - all V4 boards are identical to the drawings - if not you do not have a compatible V4.

I can see from your post that the serial etc. points to a V4 - but is your bios a gap or non-gap one ?? if it is a non-gap the Messiah will not work...also did you overheat any of the components while soldering the connections ??
