Counter Strike Help

Hi,
I got the game goin on gamespy but then during the game where its loading up to connect it says that it has connected to the server but then it just pauses just before it goes into the game where I can play.

Its gettin really annoying now because I have been trying to get it to work all day.

I have checked all my configuration setting and they are perfect.

I really need help with this so can someone PLEASE help me with it?

256MB of RDRAM,
50GB hard drive
64MB NVIDIA GeForce2 MX

all i need for gaming, maybe a better one then the GeForce2 MX
