u sure its a dep error and not a crash?
if dep is disabled, check the crash window of the game
if it says the error is 0xC0000005 its most likely dep issue
if not, its probably a crash (bad crack maybe)

if the original exe works, then i think its fair to imagine its
not dep related, and is indeed a bad crack....

See, this is what's bothering me, thats the error and it is a DEP problem, but the original EXE works fine, and the 1.0 crack works fine on the unpatched version of the game as well, which makes me think something in the crack causes DEP to think it's modifying an essential service, even though it's obviously not.
