These so called "digital download" games are protected in a very different way than those on physical media (CD, DVD). You get an activation key and you can install the game N times and then you have to buy a new key again (a waste of money), right?
In such a case, a mini/maxi image won't help you at all because the copy protection (rather: the activation system) is not even interested in checking any physical media! I think that, for this reason, digital download is simply a bad choice, even if very comfortable. (Imagine what you will do five-ten-twenty years later when support for this game is dropped and you won't be able to buy new activation keys!) (If what I wrote above is true, shall it be added to the FAQ? If you have any more useful information, let's add that, too!)
