Protection: StarForce 3.7

Hi,
I made a full image with the newest version of Alcohol 120.
DPM-Speed: 1x, DPM-Mode: High.

I've unplugged my DVD-Burner.
I use Daemon Tools 4.03 (tried all emulation settings on and off).
The protect.exe checks long time the disc (image), but
NO Chance :(

My device: LG GSA 4163B.

What can I do?
Maybe my mds-file isn't good enough...
Does anyone have a perfect mds-file?

P.S. I know the game comes out on 07th april, but I got it earlier (ORIGINAL).

This worked for me, to play the game WITHOUT unplugging or deactivating my CD/DVD-Writer.

1. I made an exact copy with Alcohol 120 (see my original post).
2. Then I've downloaded ISODir
3. I opened my mdf-file with the ISOdir and made "Trim File".
4. I wasn't sure if my mds-file is good enough. So I've downloaded this.
5. And now I've mounted my mini-image with Daemon Tools 4.03 (emulation all off or on isn't important).
(Of course the mds and mdf-file must have the same name, so rename it! ;) )

I haven't a "special" mainboard, because I always had to unplug my CD/DVD-Writer, when I was playing other StarForce-protected games (example: PoP - TTT).

I hope this can help you all ;)

Obviously the new 3.7 is fooling software like alcohol120% to make dummy images that dont work. It can be done. Looks like it has.


No Idea how else to help you until more is known about 3.7.

there r some games which r protected by starforce 3.7 - i.e. TOCA3 (newest 3.7.13.01 - PRO - not cracked), Übersoldier (StarForce 3.7.12.05 - cracked - so i think it's not the PRO StarForce) and L.A. Rush (StarForce 3.7.12.05 - not cracked yet).

i've got all backup images to work with dt 4.03 without unplug anything but i have a rare chipset :D - so the most of u will disconnect the optical ide devices or deactivate it. and u need a perfect copy with correct dpm info (created by plextor 712A by using BW). but i cant test it again now because 2 of thoose games r lend... i think in a few days (release is 07.04.2006 in germany) we get spellforce 2 here and i'll test it :D

I did say the NEW 3.7 :P

Use a mini image instead; Spellforce 2 is one of the very few titles that don't have an ISO check, but therefor something special like DABhand suggested (but i don't think that SF makes Alcohol produce dummy images :rolleyes: as my RMPS copy runs fine in my SCSI DVD drive); full image doesn't work (like with some VERY new Securom titles)

Just use ISODir and you make your own fixed image ;)
And in case your mds-file is bad, there is one at Copybase.ch

Is it possible that the cracked exe of the Securom protected US game (if it will be released) can be used for the European one ?
Or did they recently change the protection of the US release ?

Yes, US version is protected by Tages

Try the mini-image (it should be online now).
It also works for my friend (without unplugging or deactivating anything!!)

And yes, the US Version is protected by Tages (see GCW).

can anyone pls scan the spellforce.2.exe with Protection ID v5.1 to be sure we got Tages (if yes it´s prolly tages v5.3) ?

Is that way harder than Sf 3.7 or are they at about the same level ?
I remember Tages being a pretty hard copy protection, at least when trying to create a 1:1 copy (dunno about reversing)....
How likely is it to be cracked ?

Hello im newbei here :( but im want to ask what im need to do when i start the game with a no-dvd crack and next in the game need cd-key the problem is here i have got a cd-key for it but when im write in it i cant press "OK" just cancel please help! (sorry for my english)

I think you mean mini image, not NoDVD-Crack.

Try to write your key exactly!!
If you have still problems, contact the publisher.

And I don't think the problem is because you use a crack/mini image.
But you can start the game without crack/mini image and type your key...

Your key is original, isn't it?
