Another FEAR question...

Don't worry, I'm not looking for a 1.02 no cd crack. Though I was so aggravated that the game insisted I have the CD in the drive that I reinstalled and used the 1.01 patch so that I could use the available no-cd without having to use one of those registry editing programs so that it wouldn't detect Daemon Tools.

Here's my question, and I dearly hope it belongs here.. But now that I'm using an older version, the game asks me if I want to update every time I run it. I know it's a minor thing, but this reminds me so much of STEAM and how much I hated that whole HL2 ordeal . So does anyone know if it's possible to disable this automatic patch check?
