No, that thread doesn't EXPLICITLY state that the cause is the NT Compatibility

However, if you bothered to keep an eye on the official tech support forum, you would find that EVERYONE who has reported this out of memory crash is running in NT Compatibility!!!
Bottom line- It does nothing anyway, so don't bother with it.
