I actually played Ricky Ponting Cricket for hours with no disc the other day so it must only work on start up, when I'd actually realised the disc was in the cover I shut down the game and tried to restart it, it never ran of course without the disc in but once it was going in game I took the disc out again and it worked fine again until restart.
What a shame though, when I found out it was Starforce I gave it to my nephew.
