burning CD game to DVD-R

Hi,
Is it possible to burn CD games to DVD?
I know it was mentioned before, but I think was about putting multiple CD games into one DVD. I know it would be stupid to do this, but I'm just curious.
When backing up a CD game, is it possible to pop in DVD-R and play the game?
