V7 Dms 4 Lite install
I have also installed a DMS4 Lite in a V7 PS2. 17 wires. I get the same result you do. I try to flash the bios (toxic 1.1) and only get RSOD. I have tried burning the flash with Decrypter and Nero, and also with Alcohol 120 with no luck. Where did you install your chip on the MainBoard? I put mine on the far right in the "blanK" area. I'm going to try and move the chip closer to the bios on the Mainboard and shorten my wires. I've heard the chip to be sensitive to long wires.
I can get originals to play about 1 out of 10 attempts as it is now. Most of the time I get a black screen while trying to load originals. I have checked and rechecked all solder joints and everything looks good. I have checked continuety on all points and everthing checks out. Is there an alternate place to solder the Power wire? I'm using the suggested place off diagrams from the DMS4 web site. I have seen some of Spedmetals installs in this forum and he has installed the DMS 3 in the same spot I have my DMS 4 (on the far right). I don't know for sure if there is a big difference between the sensitivity of long wires in the two chips. Spedmetal has also installed the chip close to bios too. So I'm confused where to place my chip. Any help is appreciated!!! Last edited by Hintzer35; 08-12-2004 at 18:15. |
