which chip?

Does anybodyknow, if it´s possible to get out which chip is installed in the PS2?

I´ve bought my PS2 modded and I wasn´t informed that there are different chips! But now I want to know because some of my backed up games aren´t running!

Sorry for my bad english, and for my stupid questions, but I´m really a newbie! (Don´t kill me!

)
