Ritek dye is a very deep purple color. These type of discs are highly reccomended, as every type of dvd player and console, etc is compatible with these type of discs. PS2 consoles especially have trouble reading dvd-rs that have a light colored write surfaces, yet if a ritek is used you can guarantee that it will be able to read it. However, the Xbox is capable of reading these type of discs better than PS2, yet it can also depend on what model of drive you have. For example, Samsung and Philips read cdr-s but the Thomson can't.
