I have never done this so it may work or might not, but you could try it. To host a PvPGN server (you asked to host one not join join an existing one) get PvPGN software for Windows at http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ease_id=237721 get the pvpgn-1.6.3-2win32.zip file. Go to http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ease_id=213316 and get pvpgn-support-1.0.zip file. Then extract pvpgn-1.6.3-2win32 folder from the zip to desktop. Go into pvpgn-1.6.3-2win32\files and extract the file from pvpgn-support-1.0.zip into there. Then I'm not sure I think you need to edit the bnetd.conf file in the conf folder. Open the bnetd.conf file using a text editor like Notepad or Wordpad. When the box opens and asks if it should always open the file with this program uncheck the box.
In the bnetd.conf file scroll down until you get to the "Server Network Info" section. Scroll down once again & until you get to the w3routeshow line. Enable & change this only if your using NAT, behind a router, gateway, etc. If your not sure, just leave this alone. Try using w3routeaddr first, if your having problems connecting with Warcraft III, then enable w3routeshow. W3routeshow is disabled by default & should be left that way unless your experiencing problems. #w3routeshow = "127.0.0.1:6200" This will tell PvPGN to listen on port 6200 for the TCP protocol, on localhost (127.0.0.1), on your computer. If you enable this, change this to your internet IP address or domain name. Save & close your text editor. Now, open ports 6112 & 6200 if your using a firewall. If your behind a router, forward ports 6112 & 6200 to your computer or register your computer as a DMZ in the router. If your using Windows XP, it has a firewall that is installed by default. Make sure to allow incoming & outgoing access to ports 6112 & 6200 if you have a firewall enabled or you will be unable to connect to your PvPGN server. If you are unsure on how to configure your router read the manual or go to the router's site. Now your ready to start PvPGN. OK well that is what the site said the FAQ. Now run PvPGN.exe in the pvpgn-1.6.3-2-win32 folder. This will start the PvPGN server and now users should be able to connect to your server. Now to play on the server (you can play from the same computer as you are hosting from). You need a loader for the PvPGN server. I found this one on the PvPGN site. http://pvpgn-files.ath.cx/Warcraft%2...by%20Acid!.zip watch out for the ones you use some may be infected with a trojan and can steal your CD Key if using a original one. You also need http://pvpgn-files.ath.cx/BNGatewayEditor.exe from http://pvpgn-files.ath.cx/ OK now unzip the PvPGN Loader by Acid.zip and take the w3l and w3lh.dll and put them into you Warcraft 3 folder. Then open the BNGatewayEditor. In the BNGatewayEditor click Warcraft 3 at the bottom and then click add gateway. Make a name for ip put your IP and then for zone put a number like 6. Zone is for the timezone you are in. Then in the WarCraft 3 folder run the loader w3l and click the icon next to the Battle.net icon to change Gateways and find your server. Then click ok and you need to register like on a Battle.net server. Then go to custom games and host a game and play with your friends. For your friends to connect they need to get the loader and the gateway editor and add your server to their list. Then don't need the PvPGN software. ________ Fx-1 Last edited by ImDonly1; 10-04-2011 at 09:29. |
