Hi there,
I've War3 v1.15 and i want to play with my girlfriend over Internet but without Battle.net.
I try "BattleLan v0.5", "Lancraft v1.01b" et "hBmWc3LaN v2.4" but none of them working at all :(
Anyone can help me please.

i don't think you can play over the internet lan...i only know you can connect 2 pc's with a lan cable.

Plom 08-06-2004 16:29

well you can with "BattleLan v0.5", "Lancraft v1.01b" or "hBmWc3LaN v2.4" but there are too older for War3 v1.15

get yourself openvpn from sourceforge.net (openvpn.sf.net), read its documentation, unterstand the documentation, apply the documentation. link the pcs and have fun playing.

cheers

Kali is a way.

If you want an easier way to play Warcraft and similarly restricted games online, I suggest you checkout Kali.net. It's not free, but it is fairly easy.

Yes you can play over TCP/IP Internet

I am using v 1.15 and can play over the Internet against a friend without Battle.net. I use BattleLAN.

1.) You have to have Windows 2000/XP. BattleLAN does not work on Windows 98/ME.

2.) I think you have to have your LAN connection enabled. (Since you are making think WarCraft 3 that you are on a LAN it be kinda smart to have your LAN connection enabled?).

3.) If you are on a broadband connection you are most likely behind a router or something like a firewall (check that you don't have the Windows XP firewall and you person that is playing with you.). If you have a firewall on you need to disable it, or go into the configuration on your router and make your computer on the DMZ zone when you play or just enable the ports or disable the firewall like ZoneAlarm or the Windows XP firewall.

4.) You both have to have the same version of Warcraft 3.

5.) Make sure you are doing it correctly. In BattleLAN add the person's IP address and make sure you have the right IP. Make the person go to showmyip.com and get the IP. Then click Add and save just incase BattleLAN closes. Then click start. Sometimes BattleLAN closes for no reason so once you launch the game make sure (Alt + Tab) to see if it is still running.

Create game and make the other person go to Local Area Network and wait for a game to pop up.

If you can't host let the other person try.

Thats totally xact whats above is all good I just wanted to add a little details for those who could have the same prob than I have:
Even if the host of the game is all setted alright, the others people joining must also be, but when they cant, mainly cuz of router and stuff, they can use Lancraft, this worth trough router if at least the host aint on a router, but the prog is really crappy and must be restarted after each game, but still its workin fine for me and all those router heh
