This may sound a little strange, but I had a couple of games do that as well. The Suffering was one of them, as well as MX Unleashed. The Suffering never did work after about a week, but MX Unleashed worked again after I washed it with dish soap and water and made sure I got all the junk off of it.
For some reason, some DVD's have this nasty ass film or something on them, that attracts dust and lint to them like none other. Wash them with a dish soap and make sure you get them washed off, dry on a soft towel, and they may work again. Take note I said MAY. It doesn't always work, and it's not always the case, but give it a try!
