i'm new at the ps2 mod thing but i did mine and the first time i tried to start it i got the black screen my self.
did ya check over all the connections with a mag glass? mine was not soldered on well enough on one of the chip legs. i went back in rechecked all my wires redid the ones that even looked funny and started it up again and it was fine.
