Help needed with Indiana Jones

Is anyone else having problems getting a backup if Indy to work? I'm using Nero which has never given me trouble along with media that has never given me trouble. On my first try I got an error message during burning. The game boots to the PS2 logo and then stalls at a blank black screen.
My second attempt had no error messages and goes to the PS2 logo screen but then it goes to the browser screen (!) and there's a gold PS2 disc sitting their along with my memory cards. I clicked on the disc and it goes to the logo screen and then right back again. What gives?!
