It's a frequency and lines number problem.
Patches (most of the time) have only an effect on "protection". Something like "if the DC is not US, then EXIT" is converted to "if the DC is not US, continue anyway"... There might be a way to do what you want, but you'll probably need to completely rewrite all the code of your 1st_read.bin in assembler.
