Pinnacle Studio Dx...should i or shouldnt i?

Ok here's the deal.. in my work place they got Pinnacle Studio Delux PCI (Video thinngy).. i have given them some avi's which i want encoded to S/vcd's... which they say it can do in the blink on an eye compared to lets say some software prog's, but the bums are being slow about it....

...I do this stuff alot my self and it takes time and patience(As well as trail and error)!

Now i wanna know is it worth me getting one my self.. i mean am i likely to run into probs with DivX > Mpg or any other codec video/audio probs using it?
And (this one V-V-V-V.important) can it also slash the time it take of re-encoding DVD's that wont fit on DVD-R's

May your big brains be blessed if you can help me out with this one or its a shop hop down tottenham court road
