V4 No solder problem. PLease help.

I have a V4 NTSC with a no-solder chip. It has worked fine for two months booting all originals and backups. Now when I put in Devil May Cry and wait 15 seconds I still hear noises (spinning I think) and if I proceed with the boot process it will hang at the "updateing codes" screen. It does boot fine sometimes and when it does work I don't hear any noises after about 9 seconds. I can't figure out what the problem is. I do know it has something to do whith the noises I hear when it won't boot and the lack of noise when it does boot. Standing it upright seemed to work better. Could it be my chip is not seated right? I did notice where the chip goes into the board it is not a very tight fit. Is that normal or should it be as tight as a memory chip would be on a PC? All my originals boot fine. Can someone please shed some light on this for me? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance.
