I think the evoX bios should be fine and able to be flashed to the xodus modchip.
Yes, it is possible to play games off the hard-drive. But the xbox hdd is only 8gig, so if you wanted to play games off the xbox you should install a bigger hard-drive. You should get something along with the modchip that hooks up your it to a PC, and they probably give you a program to flash the bios. I'm not to sure on that though. If your looking for a newer version of the evoX bios, download mIRC, and they are floating around in channels on efnet, and dalnet.
