PS2 DVD Direct Backup...Possible?

I found out another thing...

I was mistaken on the DVD-RAM assumption. You will need a DVD-R drive with DVD-R media, not DVD-RAM. This brings the price to ~$1000 USD.

According to posts from other boards, the PS2 can read DVD-R media. The problem is with booting.
