I dont want to sound condescending but
if you have no idea why the game crashes I doubt you will be able to remove the protection. My 2 cents. If you are trying perhaps a debugger you have running in your attempt is the reason why it crashes. Other than that, it may be just a driver problem or a bad install or file.
