Can this be done by splicing the wires to where there supposed to go, instead of cutting the yellow wires? 3 of the wires I cut, were the wrong one. I tried soldering them back together, and the xbox wouldn't boot. I tried wrapping them back together without using solder, and tried booting the xbox, and it still didn't boot. I'm ordering 2 extra DVD-ROM cables incase I screw up again. Also, that PDF was the one that guy told me to check out when I purchased mine from Ebay as well. But, in the diagram, in specifics, it does not tell you where "Eject" and "M1" go. I'm thinking when he shows the little diagram of the yellow power cbale, and shows where the eject wire is, that must be where I splice the "Eject" wire from the DVD-ROM to. But "M1 - Ready Signal" I have no idea. Could you tell me which wires you spliced? I'll do the revers method for Tray In/Out, when the extra wires get here. Please get back to me. Thank You! :-)
Edit - Also, how can the drive get power? I already have a Cold Cathode light installed in my xbox, sharing power from the HDD. Is there another way for the DVD-ROM drive to receive power?
