Try to download the last version of ClonyXL, and possibly with the TCCD Database, I've checked the same game with ClonyXL and it correctly tells me that this game is safedisc 2 protected, the database gives also the correct settings and the proper devices to copy it.

1st Thing - If this game was protected by Safedisc V2 it would have Read Errors between Sectors 850 - 10045 (there abouts anyway). When I copied this there were NO read errors.
2nd Thing - The game EXE (comm2.exe) is not protected according to SafediscAnalyser, I load comm2.exe then SafediscAnalyser askes for the .icd file. There is no .icd file therefore it can't be protected. All Safedisc V2 protected EXE's don't have .icd files that i know of, only Safedisc have. Later ...

Commandos 2 is SafeDisc2-protected - believe it or not.
![]() (At least the English and the German version are) CD 3 has 'unreadable sectors' (the two other discs are not protected and not checked) and SafeDisc Analyser reports Safedisc 2.30.31 on the comm2.exe. |

Commandos 2: Men Of Courage
I'm in Aus, which would be the same as English version.
CD 3 has no 'unreadable sectors', i just checked again to make sure before posting this ... ... SafeDisc Analyser won't analyse comm2.exe which i have, either i have got my hands on an US release, or here in Aus its not protected.Very highly doubt that the game would be released without some sort of protection, but then you never know, they might be dumb enough to trust us Aussie's .... :-D ![]() Later ....

Commandos 2: Men Of Courage
hmmm....well, which program and burner u have to copy? In this case, I should use the Safedisc v2 settings and then I'd try to burn it...of course use a CD-RW so I can use it again, if the copy fails...
hope this can help. Robaerus |

Commandos 2: Men Of Courage
Quote:
The first games, which were published copy-protected came protected in Germany (cause there are so many burner users in Germany but unprotected e.g. in the USA.

My UK original (yep I do have a few!!) has no protection on any of the cds, and there is no cd check in the comm2.exe file.
It does appear that some releases are not protected. Not quite sure why that is....maybe they've fecked up! |

Well, I went to return a few games I hired last night & asked the guys there where did they get Commandos 2, was it an import?
The answer was "No, Its the Aussie retail version." Therefore I would say there is a few versions running around like crispy has said, some protected & some not. Later ...
