Dual Layer means double sided?
I was wondering if a Dual Layer DVD is also double sided? Are there double sided recordable DVDs?

No!
DL DVDs are anot double sided,they are just double layered. Yes, there are double sided DVDs, even double layered., which sums up to a total capacity of ~ 18 GB.
