Three ways to play currently exist:

1. The (almost) always working solution of the original DVD.
2. The make-image-then-download-mds-from-gcw-then-burn-and-use-external-dvd-drive...
3. The not yet fully confirmed (without external usb drive) method.

Well, some may say that the "not yet fully confirmed" method works for them, it definitely does not work in all cases.

I tried with karlmuller's EU mds in addition to LeatherFace's (as was previously confirmed) without success. Also using LG drive with latest firmware, and latest A %120 so I'm afraid I'll have to add to the confusion as to why this seems to be working for some. Only difference was I did not use a DVD+RW, but a DVD+R, have no idea if that could possibly make some difference, but I doubt it.

Doh!

Yet another SCCT-Thread.
Please mods... Paste ´em all together and stick the thread.
It´s a pain in the ass to have dozens of threads - and users asking permanently the same questions.

Grx

Thumbs up I play!

Hi guys, I followed your hints and I created a backup dvd of SCCT. I used the mds file from copybase.ch (Panoramix) and I burned DVD with the lastest version of Alcohol 120% with RMPS ON. I've got a NEC ND-3500 AG external USB with the lastest firmware and I used a DVD+RW. After I created my copy, I used starf*** to disable my IDE drive and I disabled all my virtual device. I actived all emulation option of Daemon Tools and put my backup copy in my USB DVD and the game started.

I hope that this post could help some gamers.

Now Let's PLAY!

Actually, this thread was made to discuss on how to play WITHOUT the external USB drive. The method you used is already all-too-well-known.

So now this is for the elite pro's of you.
Mushukyou asked if there is any possibilty to make your PC believe that an USB-stick is a real device. So if that is possible we just need a new fake-image that includes the autorun features of the original. This should be possible for a size of a few Mb's. Then either run the image from USB-stick or put the data to it. But how to put dpm to it? It's up 2u2 find out.

Well this is pretty messed up.

I buy the game the day it's out, come home, install, patch to v1.02, and attempt to play the game only to get one of these two errors.

"Incorrect DVD in drive please retry"
"The Key given does not match the dvd's key"

Or something to that extent.

I have alcohol and daemon tools installed now and have been trying everything to no avail. My specs are:

A64 3500+ Venice core @ 3.22GHz on my custom VapoChill
2x512MB Corsair PC4400 @ 345MHz CAS 3-4-4-8 1T
Sapphire ATi Radeon X850XT-PE @ 618 Core / 664 Memory
2x36GB Raptor for C: drive and 2x80GB WD SATA's for D: drive (Both RAID-0)
DFI NF4 Ultra, NEC 3520A DVDRW, OCZ PowerStream 520w

I didn't exactly buy this whole system only to run into ****ty problems
like this. I PAID THEM $55 for the game and it DOES NOT WORK?!?!?

What can I do, someone help me.
