Thumbs up Disk Image that is good?

I wasn't sure where to post this, but, I was wondering with all the Disk Imaging software out there, which one tops them all? I want to backup all my music cds, game cds, some dvds, video cds, etc., onto my external 400GB HDD Firewire drive (so I don't have to carry all my junk when I'm on the road)...

what is required: Data, Audio, Subchannels and some copy protection schemes.

help!

They are pretty much all good, just pick one and you will be fine.

hmmm, do they all copy subchannels and cd protections fine?

i'm looking at iso since that's a standard (?)

i am currently using mds/mdk alcohol 120% (since I bought it) but stumbled upon a old cd image I backked up a while ago, and it had 3 files, a ccd, sub, and img - if i wanted to convert that to iso or mds/mdk, would it merge all 3 ot something?

I use Roxio6 and Nero for most of my backups. I have also used RNDeluxe, DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, and recently AnyDVD. I havent really had any problems in regard to cd protections. I also use 3 different computers all with different programs to include some of the old school prehistoric programs. I have learned that no one program will work with every backup. Some of the old school programs come in handy because they were made in a much simpler time and read through some protections.
As for the old cd image you backed up, what program did you use to make the image?

I suppose we need to use cable to rip an image from a backup, just the same as retail DC. matt951 DC Games 2 28-02-2001 00:24
