When a game wont start because the time for authentication ran out, it's the cd drives fault. I had a game that wouldn't start from my phillips drive, but it would start from my liteon drive and it's slower than the phillips.

hi mate - dont know if this is your problem but i had a similar scenario with Far Cry saying please insert disc in drive. turns out I had Slysoft running on autostart in the background. this is a virtual drive program, others include CloneCD, Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120%, Nero etc I turned mine off and Far Cry worked fine, apparently some of the virtual drive apps need to be deleted to get it to work. Hope this helps.
