www.kaneaction.com sell the boot cd aswell as the chips for the ps2 havent done a ps2 yet because hopefully sony will have mine for me nov 24th if im lucky just waiting for the final letter from sony to tell me when .but have ordered many old chips from them and never had a problem with them they are based in the uk but deliver worldwide. i believe the disc is used for booting all region dvd's and old psx cdr copys. i hope this helps a little
