Jeez, hope those 'vampyres' cracks don't turn out like those fake Carbon cracks

@BarryB:
Its just a feeling but I think VAMPYRES=FLT because they use the same method to "protect" their cracks (modified UPX) which would be senseless if the cracks are from "real crackers".

Also flaming on a nonscene cracker in their nfo (maciozo) is not fine.

maciozo is only trying to help, why should some n00b group just pop up to flame him?

Ah well, if it kickstarts other groups to start making DOX again then it's not all bad!

Being flamed means that you're already someone worth flaming!!!

Can you tell me in what nfo did they flame maciozo? I'd like to see that.
And I also, don't understand why they would flame him. Maciozo, clearly shows improvement, his cracking is a lot better and he admits his mistakes(see desperados2 cracks or the late sid meier railroads v1.10). Me, I appreciate a person who has the guts to admit that he made a few mistakes, but it's also capable of correcting those. And he corrected his mistakes.Only the most moronic cracking teams seem to use flaming(Plex was one of them, Procyon-ex Emergence-exwhatever, was another).

I've read the nfo. They do have a point, but maciozo second stab at that crack was far better. Like I've said, no need to flame someone that at least it's trying. I'm pretty sure that maciozo will develop the necessary skill sooner or later. I'm sure that most of you observed the fact that the large crack packs dissappeared, that the patches released after a game release don't get a crack too often. The vanishing of old cracking groups(due to life problems or legal problems), created quite a vacuum that some indie crackers are trying hard to fill. Some of those indie are not professionals, but they do give their best and they provide a viable alternative until a proper crack is released. That's why I don't think, either, that's okay to flame those people. Instead they deserve the utmost respect for at least trying...I've seen the fact that in their greets old groups like deviance and razor1911 are quite ignored and I wonder why. It's their respect directed toward the groups that can't respond them? Don't know, hope they will explain. And I agree that Unleashed doesn't have any crack experience, but maybe they recruited someone good lately.Dunno... I'd like to know all the sides of a story.

Have you heard of paragraphs?

The attitude of most groups is if you release a crack, make sure it's a 'proper' crack and working. By proper they mean a cracked EXE from the official update, not a demo, digital download or unprotected EXE from another source, hence maciozo getting pulled up for using EXEs from ActiveMARK games, they feel it's probably giving the scene a bad name?

What these 'flaming' groups need to do is provide proof positive that maciozos cracks will fail, and exactly what happens and where in the game. Just saying they will slow the game down and create trial files is not real proof that the crack is 'bad'.

If this spurs groups to release 'proper' cracks then it's a good thing, there are some older updates that need cracking too like Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic 2, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Star Wars Empire at War and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter to name a few! I wonder if the 'vampyres' will be interested in these as well rather than propering a few AM cracks?

Paragraphs, yes. Something so old, so old fashioned. Kidding, of course.

If this starts a nice cracking war and brings us some cracks for the games you've mentioned, than even I, I'd be a supporter of flaming. I'd say bring the big guns and prepare the paramedics.

And giving a bad name to the scene, how about to flame the guys from Plex or Procyon....

And you are right, I can also recommend a few patches to crack for them: Age of Pirates: Carribean tales v1.50, GT Legends...Plenty of Starforce protected content there.Patches no one cracked yet.

Value can be seen only in work and respect comes from a job well done and proper conduct. You show respect, you get respect and if you do your job done well, you get the recognition for being a pro and acting like one.

As far as I know, the latest version of KotOR 2 (v2.1) is already cracked by Carbon and it's working fine.
