Help DVD-R wont play on Sharp SD PX15H

Hi everyone

I need some help i have a Sharp SD PX15H System that wont play any of my dvd-r Discs although the manual says that it is capable of doing so.

Here is my method of Burning my DVD-R Movies

1. start "Nero - Burning Rom"
(If you have more than 1 burner, you have to choose "Recorder"
on the top bar & then "choose Recorder".
click on your dvd-burner and then on "OK")

2. on the top bar choose "File" & then "New..."

3. in the top-left-box choose "DVD" & then "DVD-ROM (UDF/ISO)"
(don't choose "DVD-Video"!!!)

4. "Multisession" -> select "No Multisession"

5. "ISO" -> select "ISO Level 1" & "ISO 9660"
all other points have to be unchecked!

6. "UDF" -> check the point "Force DVD-Video compatibility mode" (for X-Box Only)

7. "Label" -> at the point "Volume Label" you now enter your DVD-titel
all other fields have to be blank

8. "Dates" & "Misc" -> leave both as they are by default

9. "Burn" -> only check write

10. click on "New"

11. select your "AUDIO_TS" & "VIDEO_TS" folders in the right browser
and drop them into the left browser

12. on the top bar choose "File" & then "Write CD..."

13. insert a blank DVDr into your DVD-burner now and click on "Write"

This method works on my other standalone Player a (yamada)

Can anyone tell me what is stopping the Sharp SD PX15H from playing them or point me to a firmware flash that will allow them to play

Thanx for any help

Memorex may be your problems. I dont know about the other brand. Just know that Memorex sucks hard.

I have burned about 20 of my movies with Memorex with no problem. I have had problems with DVD+R's in a lot of inexpensive DVD players but you say you are using DVD-R's so that's not a problem. I have noticed that when I used Nero to burn things that a lot of CD-ROM's and DVD-ROM's would not read them at all. I use Alcohol 120% and it works great. I also noticed that a lot of DVD-R media I buy says that some DVD-RW drives will not burn at 8x without some update. Maybe try burning at 4x if you are not already.

Hi Big Country i have tried burning with Alcohol120%, Nero 6, DVD Decrypter and clone dvd and still cant get them to play do you think that it could have something to do with my drive looking for some kind of protection on the disk and when it doesn't find any it fails to play because as i said they play in one of my stand alone players but not the other so i know the burning method is good
