Why Messiah Cannot be installed in my V2 PAL PS2?

whats wrong with V2 PAL PS2? i had my neo2 for long time and never had any DRE at all since i bought PS2 more than a year ago.
The mod guy dont recommend to install messiah on my V2 PAL PS2
because he says that V2 PS2 is too old and can't read the DVD-R games well, and the laser will be blow up later.
is this true? i saw the chart http://www.ps2modchips.com/charts/charts.php
this tells V2 PAL is not supported by messiah

pleaaaaaaaase help!! i need to know my PS2 really can't read DVD R games!! and if it read DVDR does it damage the DVD laser???
