Mine played DVDr movies fine, but that was when it was already modded. I couldn't play DVDr games until I had the right CDs to play with, but I don't think it'll matter, due to the fact that stand alone dvd players can for the most part play DVDr discs. (At least all 6 in my house can!) And one is a very early model player... Hell, I think all can play DVD-RW discs as well, but I can't confirm that. (I think I'll go check now.)
