15w soldering iron not a good idea.
Yeah its lower heat but u have to then hold it on for longer to get a decent solder point.
Industrial surface mount solderers use much higher temp and wattage solder irons ( so do I when chipping). That way you line up tinned wire to tinned solder point, apply loads of liquid flux and then just touch the solder iron on the place for the briefest of time. Perfect joint every time with minimum amount of heat transfer.
