Maybe I'm just talking to myself now, but the frackin thing did it again. I took it apart to examine it, loosened some screws to release some pressure off the chip and it played like normal the first...

Phew.....

That was it, it was screwed down too tight. Thank goodness I seem to be wrong about the grid contacts around the screw holes. Time to figure out how to copy games now.

I hope this is all worth it....

Chipzone's mod they sent me is of the chip in a socket type which

they claim is so that I can change upgraded chips...

I just installed (carefully) a modchip into my 7501 model today

and tested it immediately to see if it would play my normal

(original) game cd. It checked out alright, but an hour or two later...

I just ordered a mod chip for my Playstation 7500.

I haven't installed it yet, I don't have burning software yet, but I do have a 48x16x48 cd-rw.

Problem is, I don't know jack about all...
