Cannot start Driv3r

Hey.

I can't seem to get "Driv3r" to work...
When i hit the shortcut the screen turns black, pc seems to change resolution but then "bing" (windows error message sound), back to desktop.
But no error message, no log, nothing. I don't even see the Intro, it crashes within the 1st second... :(

My Specs:
----------------------
WinXP Pro SP1 |
DirectX 9.0c |
Intel P4 2,8GHz |
512MB RAM |
GeForce2 Ultra 64MB |
----------------------

I know i just meet the min requirements, but even if the game should be unplayable slow, it should start?!

I noticed, that there are no registry entries made by the game on my machine...At least under "[local_machine]\SOFTWARE\Atari\Driv3r\"

Hope that any1 has an idea
Thanx so far,

.alex

This is an uninformed idea since I've never played Driv3r before, but check around the install folder, maybe there is a log file. ( edit Sorry, didn't read the whole post. )

Also, check the Windows application log, maybe it recorded an error message.

Good luck.

@justalex:
I think it's your OLD graphic card GeForce2.
By the way: Is the game workiung without crack with your original DVD in the DVD-Rom?

justalex 24-03-2005 13:23

@layziegtp: already tried, unfortunately no entries there...nowhere :(

@GLH: I also guessed. But the game requires a "64MB T&L compatible Graphics Card". Mine has 64MB and is T&L compatible. I just installed the most recent drivers (7.1.8.4) but it still doesn't work :(
[edit]original does not work also.

thnx so far anyways!

Then, please go to the official game forum (www.atari.com or www.driv3r.com) and try to get help from there.

Geforce2 series has _NO_ T&L.
