hi guys. all the time iv'e been a member here i have NEVER been able to ftp to and from my xbox using any version of evox except the original. iv'e edited the evox.ini file set static ip. and every thing i could think of. after about 50 attempts i gave up.
that was untill today i manually changed my nic card ip address and subnet mask address. now some of you will bag me big style for not doing this in the first place but i was never comfortable messing with the nic card so previousley i left well alone. that was untill i decided to to remove a spare nic card from one of my other pc's and i'm glad i did. i sat down read evox for dummies all the way through. and now i'm glad to say i'm running evox 1.8.3752 and i can ftp with it.

i humbley bow my head to the xbox gods. you know who you are.

Hey Dude,

Does it say die hard member by your name?? Just kidding:D Well I know when I first tried to ftp to my XBox I had no luck but I configured my nic but what was wrong was the static ip was set to no I thought by just switching it to yes while on the cdrw would do it, alas I had to burn another cdrw.

Hey the way I look at it its the small things that mess us up!!

my problem was no where near a simple as your's i had to manually reconfigure my nic card completley. proir to that i always just used the auto ip settings on the original evox. like i said i tried every thing and i mean every thing before i started to mess with the nic card.

i could always ftp to my xbox just could not use any version except the original evox.

I'm always interested in networkings stuff so please clarify.

I'm not really understanding what the problem was. You say you reconfigured the NIC? It only carries the MAC address - the IP is changeable in evox and windows - so what did you configure on it?

dude 16-05-2003 10:32

my nic card would not allow me to change the ip addrtess via windows and no matter what i did with evox it made no difference. i had to go in to the hardware properties and manually set the desired ip address and subnet mask address. directley through the nic card itself.
