safedisc 2.60 @ Civilization 3
 

Safedisc analyser v3.4 shows a safedisc version v2.60.052 and CRC (Calc/Proof): f71d7390 for civilization.exe after installation of the german version of civilization 3 and the patch v1.21f. Overwriting the civilization.exe with the english no-cd version causes the game to crash after customizing the world. :o Can somebody help me and tell me what i could do to get the game running? I would like to get either the english or the german version running!

use a better no cd? the safedisc version doesnt matter, because thats after the patch. that would only affect unsafedisc attempts. before the patch, its 2.4 or 2.50. did you copy any necessary files to the hard drive? anything that civ3 accesses from the cd, that you dont copy, would probably cause it to F* up

You'll need to look for the NO-CD for version 1.2

Or go back to the old version for now and use your old NO-CD.

Yes, I tried to use unsafedisc but the safedisc-version seems to be too new. I haven`t found a german no-cd version for 1.21 yet and the english one is not compatible. The most awful thing is that even with the original cd in the drive and the patch 1.21 installed the game says "insert ...cd" at the start. Without the patch (1.16 then) the game runs smoothly.

have you used safedisc analyzer to see which unsafedisc you need to use?

Yes, as I stated in the first place, the version is 2.60!

the patch is 2.60, the cd is 2.4 or 2.50.......sounds like you should just use the cd til u get a better no-cd, or use daemon tools ;) if you have the hard drive space.

v1.0 is 2.4
v1.16f and 1.17f are 2.51
v1.21f is 2.60

now the choise is yours....

The format of my image is .nrg (i used nero to create the image but the daemon can´t mount that format

what does the emulation actualy do because it works some time but most it doesnt

It gives the protection the bitsnbytes it needs to think the original CD is in there. It doesnt work with newer protections because they change their way of working (see Die Gilde, SecuROM *new*).

use clonecd to make ur image. as long as your daemon tools came out after the game who you are emulating, it should have the fixes necessary to be unblacklisted.

I created an image using CloneCD. Then mounted this image on the daemon. It worked fine without the patch. Then I installed the patch 1.21 and the same error appeared as ever. It seems to me that the patch is not compatible with the german version?!? Has anybody experience with that? Now the original CD doesn`t work. unsafedisc and daemon - same thing. It`s not easy to buy the english cd here. Can Í get an image from someone? Is there any other solution other than to play the old 1.16?

wait for the crack of the patch to be released..

I just read that there will be a different version of the patch 1.21f for the german version of civilization 3. That one will hopefully run.:D

SD 2.6 has added some new blacklistings. Meaby you need to change something in the registry to make it work.

maybe regcleaner can help you..i don't know....
