Advanced Setup Creator is powered by FireMonkey developed by Embarcadero which enables High-Definition graphics even on low performanced computers.

Hi guys, unfortunately, All setup files created wih ASC will show copyright messages at startup.
I know nobody likes those messages but at least that way, people won't put their name on an installer that was made with my program.
It took nearly a year for the program to be created which is hardwork and I surely deserve the credit and it is a free program.
There is only one template because I have been changing project types with encryption that ended up messing up the other templates and made them useless, the only way to recover is to remake the template and I am too tired for that.
This is the last release maybe in a month or two, I got assignments to do and I have to prepare for an examination, only use my spare time to update the program.
Will have to make a separate UltraARC for ASC. This will do the same job as the one for IC, CI, CIU and the other scripts but the records.ini will be part of setup.exe.

The problem is where am I going to put the button for copyright because if I just add a button for copyright, user comes, then removes the button. I get what you're saying but there isn't any other place where I can put it unless if you can suggest one.

ASC should have your details on it Razor but not the conversion created with ASC. I would have to agree with toto when he says people may not use ASC if the created installer has advertising on it.

This has already been discussed, the main problem with making a 'Paid' version is someone will just release the paid version to another site. So the paid version will just get shared more times than people download the Free version.

About setup.exe, it crash if I let my AV software enabled (AVAST under win7 x64 fully up-2-date) and simply do nothing (or instant close) with AV disabled (under VirtualBox win7 x64 image, fully up-2-date).

Hmm, now that's weird. Boost speed is lower than normal speed, (Processor clock speed)
And video size is invalid, wow. I guess, they were right about Int32, unfortunately, I have to find another way of detecting VideoSize.

About the setup. The problem is that, I gave a number of people that setup for tests, it just closes automatically on Windows 8, not just on 1 or 2 PCs, all of them which kind of worries me. Same thing with UltraARC and Windows 8. It works on Windows 7 and 10 but not in 8, Microsoft really did something that they probably shouldn't have done.

Hello Razor12911. i was start with nature.asc project to learn how to use and can do my projects, and i just add blur effect to the shapes(just blur and shapes nothing more). 1 hour later i decide to run and Boom. Access violation FFFFFFFF(etc.) ASC is active and say please wait. but nothing happend.(and i was forget to save the project )

i found the error. accidentally i was press duplicate dialog button and then i quickly press minus button to delete de page. When i was press run the error appears.
go to user inerface->designer_>dialog->properties->main->effect_blur to the shape then press duplicate dialog button and press minus button to delete and run.

I tested and fixed some bugs that cause setup not to even start at all in Windows 8 but I tested it on VM, results may not be the same for other PC so please test this.
About the attachment, it is for system check, it must be accurate, I tried to fix the bug for GPU with more than 2GB videoram. I also attached a picture, there is text highlighted in yellow, I made a couple of changes with the values of the highlighted text and they must be your top priority when testing.

GPU VRAM still missing but at least GPU model is fetched now. RAM informations incomplete and primary HDD size and CPU boost speed (maybe not all CPUs have one) are missing too.

I think I know why that system check didn't work properly, can be fixed. I was testing freearc decompression today, the main setup was using almost 2gb ram and was unresponsive, I have to find a fix for that then y'all can start designing. Video installation is the best feature for me, the only problem is the video item is always onto of everything else, nonetheless, I still like it, will release NFSR conversion as a demonstration to what asc can really do and so far so good.

Ultimate test, ok what I am interested in this test is whether video plays on your computer, I think what I used doesn't need codecs but just need to confirm. Feature level is another thing I wanna test, I tested on my GTS360M and it says the feature level is DX 10.1 which is correct, my main worry is anything above 11, if you see any strange values, please post that value and give your correct feature level. Oh another thing is, I wanna know if this things does run on Windows 8.:mad:

I'm almost done, I am only finalizing and taking the program into extremes to see if it can handle anything without popping up an error.:)

Everything works fine, only system check has 2 bugs, for CPU it says 0x3.80, but correct is 4x3.80, and for DirectX it shows DX11, but correct is 12.0, but everything else works just fine.

I tried to mend the operating system part. It turns out it was caused by GPU detection, OpenCL didn't initialize on your computers/operating systems, don't know why but I tried to correct the error, I hope it's fixed.

Fixed it for Windows 7, and the VRAM and DX being zero is because there is no dedicated video memory and no GPU means dx cannot be initialized.

Bad news guys, more delays for ASC, I noticed a bug while making one of the template, don't know where it came from and don't know how to fix it. The other thing that's making me delay ASC is because UltraARC for it is not ready. To cheer you up, I attached a couple of things that can be done in ASC if you are creative, there are no limitations.

RAM Size will be inaccurate.

And all those people with GPU Size Greater than 2GB, please run regedit. Goto HKLM\SYSTEM\CONTROLSET001\CONTROL\CLASS
From there (CTRL+F) search for HardwareInformation.AdapterString
after getting that, in the same key, look out for HardwareInformation.MemorySize and HardwareInformation.qwMemorySize, tell me the value(data) and type being written.

Interface feels similar to Smart Install Maker, which I liked greatly.
However I feel completely lost once I am in Configuration > Installation > Installer. Like do I want to extract or compress?? Am I making a queue for asc to compress the setup contents, then to extract them once the installer is run??

Interface feels similar to Smart Install Maker, which I liked greatly.
However I feel completely lost once I am in Configuration > Installation > Installer. Like do I want to extract or compress?? Am I making a queue for asc to compress the setup contents, then to extract them once the installer is run??
I feel like a noob lol, probably having trouble because I am used the much easier to use Smart Install Maker.

Also which compression settings would be best for a machine with only 8gb of ram?

Your work so far already is great BTW, so I'm not complaining about what pace you work at xD. I used to develop stuff for android and it was hard managing those projects between work so I don't blame you xD.

Lol I actually had a good laugh when I read this because I had a few cryptanalysis courses not long ago, I understand your pain all too well since I had a crazy Russian professor with a PhD in reverse engineering. His motto was "google it"..

What do you think about implementing a simple redundancy check? I know that it isn't all too hard to implement a quick crc32 check for the archive through script (or one to check the extracted files after extraction) but I figured it would be a nice feature since these days files over the net tend to get either corrupted or " modified" by third parties with intentions anything but good.

PS the screenshots you had of the installer you had with the tiles looked really cool.

OK I could be tottaly wrong here so take this with a grain of salt.

I believe it might be showing up as 3 since those amd bulldozer/piledriver CPUs are using CMT(a cluster multi threading architecture). So while technically you have "6 cores" those cores are in "clusters" of 2, I think the less misleading way to describe the said CPU is as a "triple module" CPU as it has 3 modules of 2 cores.

While amd got good parallel processing results like this, their FX series paled in comparison to Intel's offering (SMT based, also some have their hyperthreading technology, 2 threads per core) because those bulldozer/piledriver CPUs had poor single thread performance.

Well I'm a big fan of amd so I think will make a good comeback with their next architecture since they probably learned a lot since then (they've been working on it since before piledriver and are switching back to smt!). Btw sorry if I went a little off topic, this kind of stuff is like a hobby to me (and maybe some of you guys too xD!)

However I'm not sure how this shows up in the registry, if system cores is being fetched from registry it might be fetching the number of modules instead. I hope I was at least somewhat helpful here, though I might of been getting at nothing in the end lol.

Everything showed up properly for me.
Also I'm not sure if the method for checking cpu requirements is a good one, since even low frequency intel cpu's will do better then a high frequency amd one, and while amd cpu's will have more threads/cores intel ones will still perform better. I guess the best way to do it would be to separate requirements between the two chip makers. But of course if it turns out to be hard to add such a feature it would just be a hassle to add.

GPU memory detection is weird, when I try to make a ISS script that reads vram, the setup crashes on my pc, when it works for others.

it does happen, and I hate it. The are various methods of detect pc components but not all of them work. Within asc, i have 3 choices, first, to detect via regedit, only problem is reading qword data types, second is through wmi, this method has a tendency of having unexpected errors on win8. Third is through opencl which i don't know quite well but i am currently using it.

Ok guys, this is the final test for this project after this, I'm releasing 0.0.6, 0.0.5 is skipped. In this test, if the setup starts then it's a pass. Anyways, I wanted to create PES2016 conversion using Advanced Setup Creator and this is how it will look.

Things to test:
Check if sound plays.
Check if the 3 videos in this play, surely they must play without codecs but test anyways without codecs.
You can also test decompression if you use 7z to pack PES or any data and place it near setup.exe with filenames data1.cab and data2.cab.

Oh, and it took 2 hours to design this from an empty form which is not bad considering designing something like this in Inno Setup will take far longer than this. The only disadvantage of this is the time taken to launch this setup, takes 10 - 15 seconds to launch on my PC, but might take longer on others.

Hey guys, got you these. Added these features 2 weeks ago, didn't post them, didnt want to be seen as spamming because I keep posting new features and tests over and over again but I haven't released the main program yet which is what is you guys wants. Anyways, the attachment has two setup examples demonstrating the features, one shows a setup that was designed, normal size was 628x360, this feature just enlarges the design to fit fullscreen in-case if you are planning on making an installer that works like a game. it's optional, switch between normal window or fullscreen, I also managed to make the install keep aspect ratio when doing this, if you designed an install with an aspect ratio of 16:9, it will fit on 800x600 resolution, but black bars will exist. The other setup shows an example if you prefer video as main background if you do not want to use pictures.

So far, the problem with XE3-XE8 is that the video isn't set to fit specified regions, so if you use fullscreen, you must convert the video to 3840x2160 to accomodate everyone with different screen resolutions, I should try Delphi Seattle 10 maybe this is fixed in it. And I don't know if I'm the only one but I notice black lines like margins where the item is place on the setup which is set to fullscreen. Only fix is to be wise when using video as backgrounds in fullscreen.

Things left to do:
Finish up the stupid documentation/help file, this is what is really slowing me down but have to do it so that everyone can use this program.
Finish up registry part, only thing left is reg removal when uninstalling.
Fix the string grid, this causes unnecessary errors when using asc.
Make more templates, also slowing me down.
Also have to fix freearc unpacking bug, sometime, it skips archive without raising error if there was something wrong when unpacking.
Add more conditions.

Awesome features added/tested:
Tested precomp, srep and reflate by bilawal with asc they work.
Added kill, restart, suspend and resume task by a click of a button.
You can run cmd or bat files hidden and etc.
... don't remember what else... I added a lot of things that I can't even remember.

So far, I'm impressed with this project because bugs have been cleared up for the first time, the CPU usage is improved, big thanks to the testers and thanks for the number of likes of this programs Facebook page so far. Some of you might remember, I started working on ASC last year sometime in December, seems like it takes a year to create the perfect tool, same with Installer Creator, took a year.

hi guys, finally solved the problem, it turns out it had something to do with language and regional settings. The format settings for decimal separator differs according to what a country or language uses, those people who were experiencing startup errors was because your system uses commas and i made the program use dots/full stops as decimal separators, anyways, i'm now making this standard, the program will only accept full stops. 5 months after release and i only figure this bug out at this point, damn I suck.

Well, just to confirm everything, I just had to set my region and language to Spanish (Spain) and setup failed to start, switched it back English (South Africa) and it worked, therefore I made format settings standard for every region to avoid errors like these. I might post the program in a week, am finishing off by adding splash and animation out feature, otherwise, I can't wait myself.

I was working on a setup for a game, and it worked... compiled and all. Setup ran fine, all the extracting. Then I decided to save my work as a template. Then when trying to make a new setup for another game using that template (All I do is change the AppName, some Background pictures and a little bit of text). I run it using just the "Run" option... it works fine. Though, when choosing "Build", I choose the directory and name the .exe... As soon as I click "Save" I get an error "Access violation at address 00007FFA13327F20 in module 'ntdll.dll'. Read of address 00000000FF7100D6". What do I do man? I mean I did buil a setup using my exact same template... as I said its only the AppName, pictures and some text that change.

sometimes icons do raise an error in asc, this only only happens if the count of pngs in a particular icon is one.

Those who want to play around before the beta is released, there is the unreleased 0.0.5. You might need to change location for this to English (United States) or just change decimal separator in your regional settings from a comma to a dot, at least for now you can be able to make a couple of templates then when beta comes out, you are ahead.

I also uploaded slideshow test. Move mouse around and see what happens, you can now design an installer bigger than form but once you move mouse around, the content is moved around so that user can see everything, anyways this feature is in 0.0.6 which I'm still working on.

thanks, forgot to mention, if you want to try out freearc with external compressors, add your additional files under deployment - setup resources, add arc.ini, cls and exe. Unarc.dll is already included and isdone.dll is not necessary, open help dialog for additional information.

sweet, at least a couple of people are trying it out, 0.0.6 could have been posted sooner but optimization is something that is a major problem that i can't get around. Its kinda choppy if you start applying simple features on your design and its seriously now starting to give me a headache, you might notice that some features that were in 005 will no longer be in 006, like some effects, i had to remove them because they impact badly on startup speed and i'm a person of performance, which means it a bit faster but i still need remove other things to prevent setup from being choppy because it isn't suppose to be doing any of that, anyways, took a little vacation just to think of how I can overcome this issue. And people, keep designing...

ico must have more than one png inside for it to be classified as an icon according to a function I use. Just make sure your icon comes with a range of sizes embedded in one. (Hint: when you open your icon using windows photo viewer, there must be left right arrows to show all png files the icon has). sizes must be a multiple of 16, can be 16x16, 32x32, 48x48, 64x64, 128x128, 256x256, you can just use 1 png but make sure it is resized into many sizes and put together to make it an ico. Why is it that when you use reshacker, when you check rt_icons, you find many icons but when you check rt_icon_group you find a set of icons in one.

that is weird. Pes2016 game icon does have 16 colour, 256 colour png images in it. I extracted 1 32 bit image just to discard the 16, 256 colour then error because there was only one png in the ico file even if it was 32 bit image.

Me encountered the same nt.dll error...I was using 32-bit Icon with 6 layers...I tried even using 16-bit one...But all gave the same error...Then I removed all layers except one & it compiled...I think ASC only compiles Icons with single layer...

Under custom installation, add whatever needs to be done, after that, use the row number to determine the number you should use under perform, those are just for things like showing web link when someone clicks button or something related like restarting PC and etc.

Oh, forfot to mention, for now stay away from registry and file association, the features are not buggy but if you don't use them properly, they'll have a tendency of deleting all reg keys, that happened to me 2 days ago, luckily I was prepared. If you are worried of setup deleting files on hard drive well, the uninstaller only removes the files it installed, nothing more, nothing less. So it is safe to set installation directory as D:\, only the files it installed will be removed. That's will be all. No other warnings...

Thanx for the update, will try it later. Just one question: if I add a task for the files to extract, which is just one .bin file, and then after I add a task to make a desktop shortcut. But when I run the installation it only extracts the files and skips the desktop shortcut creation. What am I missing?

That's a bit odd. The program's installation didn't have this problem.
Example how to make shortcut:
Shortcut should be: <UserDesktop>\My program
Target should be: <InstallDir>\bin\myprog.exe
The other properties like description, icons are just additional properties which can be left blank.

another question, if a user picks an Install directory, can I make the parent folder of all the files (eg. appname) constant without the user having to input the appname manually? Eg. default <installdir> is "<ProgramFiles>/<AppName>". But if I browse to another location or path, it just extracts the files into the root of that path... I want it still to automatically add the AppName. If that makes sence...

<Edit> how do I make the setup to extract more than one .bin file? Do I need to make a task for every .bin file?

I would suggest adding an install directory prefix that can be changed, and an install directory suffix that stays constant/static.

What I liked about the previous version, was the option to disable/enable a button. With the latest version, I change the button "enable" to 0 for false. But the button can still be pressed. Am I missing something?

Well, I realized what's the point of disabling an item if there isn't anything that will enable it at some point, conditions are the ones that are controlling the property. If you want the item to be totally disabled, make a scenario which can never be possible,
Example {Math=4>7;}, we all know that 4 can never be greater than 7 so the item will forever be disabled.
But if you have something like {Math=<ProcessorCores> > 2;}, then the item will only be enabled if processor has more than 2 cores therefore there will be times when the item will be enabled.

Using a project created by me everything seems to work but when I want to uninstall the product the setup changes all associations of computer files making the system unusable. I must therefore restore the PC. For if I am that something wrong or is there something that can be had.. Hi razor. I tried adding the external compressors in the tab "setup resources" but I have problems. For example if I use xz or LZ77, Precomp 0.45 or 0.44 or nanozip the extraction does not start showing a page of dialogue made by me and then closing the installation. Obviously in resource add .exe and cls file necessary and arc.ini right but until now works only the classic precomp(0.38-0.43)+msc+srep+lzma.

This is normal because these extraction methods must be internal to the program "asc"?

first, add exe to run under configuration, secondly, go to user interface add checkbox, give the checkbox a name, eg: MyRedist then go back to configuration, edit the exe row you added, under condition, use the condition format to make the redist install only if checkbox is checked like this {MyRedist=True}, all done.

Se hai problemi per estrarre posso dirti che guardando la tua immagine andava bene solo che al posto di {src} e {app} devi mettere <SourceDir> e <InstallDir> come nella prima immagine qua sopra di coveiro. Per i requisiti ad esempio processore e così via prendi un quadrato dagli Item, nelle proprietà "compare1" scrivi <processorcores> e in "compare2" i processori richiesti. Deselezioni sync state e a destra trovi state 1,2 e 3 e selezioni l'immagine da mettere se soddisfa i requisiti o meno. In state 1 è uguale alla richiesta, in state 2 non soddisfa e in state 3 è superiore.

I'mm not sure but I think you need to remove the encryption not make it a null password...So remove the -hp tag
