I wanted to present the problem again between constant and slideshow. In practice, if a page (which is the first, the third or the last page does not change) I put the slideshow, the constants (for me is Italian and English) is stoned and no longer work, or of the time it works only part . If I remove the slides all the constants are fine.

It has never happened to anyone? Thanks for your concern.

No you can't modify repack installers with this.

There is no internal compression from this, you have to use external compressors, Freearc, 7-Zip ..... whatever.

I've encounted another issue, running a newly build installer adds vfdiver.sys
Windows defender calls it a trojan:win32/dynamer!ac

AppData\Local\Temp\ASC-2C743408\setup32\vfdriver.sys

1. OK is there another way to add reg files? Sadly many games use the registry. I don't suppose we can dupe the game to run without reg keys.

3. On my first test my installer had 6 pages with 3 dialogue pages and the finish button refused to work, I had to end task in task manager.
I then added 3 more making it 6 dialogue pages and now the finish button works.

Do the number of dialogue pages make a difference to the setup, can I just one dialogue page or how do you calculate the number of dialogue pages required? or can I just skip it all together?

4. Do I have to create uninstaller? Can't I just have windows use the its default uninstaller?

This is not only one problem you have.

Some issues your software are struggling:
1. Hard drive and Memory usage are terrible.

I totally understand its taught. If I am not mistaken you use software rendering for drawing components or scalable vector graphics. It makes sense for big usage of memory for drawing. You should add option disabling it and use the only .png supports. There should always be a compromise for everyone, really?

About the size of installer. Why to not use 7z as an internal compressor for all files.

If you need some help with the design side of program happy to help.

The RAM usage problem is because of this, but if you say its high, I'll just reduce the quality, look in the pictures below.

About setup size, well I thought about this but there aren't many good sources for LZMA in delphi, but will try to make custom compressor which is good. the one thing that you don't get is the executable file itself without anything inserted is 15.4mb, that's the base exe without any attachments, it's this big because of the attachments it has, if you were comparing it to Inno Setup then I'm afraid, but Inno is based on VCL, and ASC is based on FMX, those are just some of the consequences.

Hi razor, can you help me I have a big problem here with ASC 0.6.1 alpha because ASC can Run the Installer, and Build successfull. but the final setup.exe not run so, i cant test this installer.
and i don´t understand why the Run build in the temp folder works fine and the final build doesnt work.

i made 2 installers "S-installer" made it with 0.4.0 asc and compiled works fine also the final build setup works in w7x64&x86 and in xpsp3x86.

"M-installer" made it with asc 0.6.1 I have a big problem here with ASC 0.6.1 alpha because ASC can Run the Installer, and Build successfull. but the final setup.exe not run so, i cant test this installer.
and i don´t understand why the Run build in the temp folder works fine and the final build doesnt work in my win7x64. also in the xp too.

i have the same problem with 0.5 version of asc.

in asc 0.6.1 the animation only works in the page 1, the same animation in page 2 are static.

Is possible another way to compile the asc project like a stand alone compiler or something like that?.

Hey everyone, I recently updated the programming software that I use to make a lot of my programs, and anything that is related to the use of FireMonkey framework seems affected, which is what ASC uses it more delays are expected as I try to update the source, I may have to start afresh and rewrite the whole source again because trying to update source to recent changes of the framework causes real headaches. Some of you might remember Installer Creator project, same thing happened to it, they updated framework leading to new versions not being able to compile source and it could only be compiled using XE3 and maybe XE4, but changes started taking place since XE5 then again in Seattle 10.

You might say I should revert to old update, well I could but the reason I'm trying to use the latest one is because a lot of bugs have been fixed that I had to find or create fixes by myself so yea, memory usage is also improved, I did the math and it seems like latest version is the way to go.

Things that are likely to be removed from the program due to recent framework changes:
Video feature will be removed but will be reinstated in later versions after I have found a bypass.
Triangle and Diamond shapes will no longer be there because of framework changes.
And etc, there could be more to remove.

Edit:
There is a lot to do for this to get back upon its feet, so I estimate by September or October, it will be recreated.

I just changed the colour of this design just by filling in the value, in this case, I chose to replace a colour, the replacer will find all occurrences then use the new colour of my choice.

ASC is based on FMX Libraries of Delphi. Unlike VCL on which Inno is based, this one got better features like High DPI, etc. Inno's base exe is about 600KB whereas for ASC, its about 15 MB. So, you pay the prize for better looks there ;)

You can use UPX, It will compress the setup to almost half the size but you will lose uninstaller.exe. Just make sure Register program to false to avoid having game's name at "Uninstall or change program".

I need to repport kind of a bug with saving project after having changed template (started to fill in information to build setup with one template and then changing)

ASC does say that it is saving but no trace of .asc files afterward...worst, it delets existing project if you save over!

BTW, one feature request for upcoming ASC version, add a installation time that how much total time it taken, so we could show it with a variable :)

Nope, am not talking for elapsed time or remaining time, I mean like when we start installation, then setup will start counting time internally, and then when the finished page is shown, we will use a variable like <InstallationTime> and it will show how much does it taken to install ;)

I mean, after designing your sidebar, for the labels, the ones in the installer I made.
It shows
Zee, South Africa and the number of programs running.
These are just labels that I placed in the designer but what's written on the labels is just variables
Zee is the username on my system, to show this in ASC, you just have to write <Username>, South Africa is the location, this variable doesn't exist in ASC yet, so you have to put something in place of location, also with the number of applications.

You'll end up with something like in the photo I attached.

I know the fix, but if we get this error, then we are not able to save the asc template, just we have only one solution which is by closing the ASC and run it again :(

Sometime this happen after creating the whole design and then it says failed to performe the task..... Really irritating.....

Yeah everyday a new problem pop-ups....
Now temporary setup launched in background so what we see is only the page of asc temporary setup is running can't even minimize it even can't exit it or force stop it because if we open something like task manger it will open in background of asc nothing can help except of shutting the PC down I tried this 9 times and every time this happens....
My request is that in new update please make asc able to open the other application in front and make asc automatically run in background.... And yeah page change effects as mentioned above in new update.....

for the first one, simulator 15, looks like you put a specific directory, rather then {app} itself, which could be any directory end-user specifies, rather then the one specific one you input.

The second one could be that your OS isn't compatable, check game requirements, or use no-dvd crack, to make sure game runs properly first.

Game went from 12 Gb to 20 Gb once done, and involves 120.000 files.

Freearc compression goes ok and I could recompress game to 8Gb ...so far, I am very happy with that except that it does not decompress properly and loose a lot of time waiting for...nothing!

Endeed, ASC launches Arc Exctract command ok but I have to wait 10 min before % progress bar starts and show installation.... then install time is pretty fast (10 min) but ASC doesn't stop reaching 100% and goes on for about 10min again before it says "install successfull".... sometimes it takes 2 min to finish, sometimes 10/15 min, went up to 40 min....

Moreover, It can also give a "data.bin couldn't be extracted" eventhough install has already been successfull with same archive .... it is very eratic and hardly understandable .....especially if you think that decompression actually works and all files to be extracted are in the install dir at the end, even when it gives me an error message

This error is given even after 100% install reached and files decompressed ok in install dir

I tried changing compressors (Razor UltraArc, Masked 2.5.1, Masked compressor x86, compressor 1.2....)
I changed methods (and used simple srep +lzma),
I changed freearc parameters (solidblocks, sorting files options.... )
I choped game files into 4 Gb parts (5x4Gb parts).... reduced waiting to 2 mins but it didn't improve waiting time after it reaches 100%

This is annoying cause I have 20/25 min waiting for 10 min decompressing!!!

I also have such errors.
I Extract With rar extract it couldn't extract all archive. but it shows installation complete.

full size after extract with winrar is 13gb & game Worked Great. But when extracting with asc it get only 600mb many game files are missing. what the prob....

I'm Sure it's Not A PC's Prob......

Hi there Razor. Its been long since I've used your software, because I was too lazy to read Help File. But in the end I did and it helped alot.

But now that I've went through ALOT to make a template... Got struggles man, some really bad ones.

Anyway, I'll tell you the struggles just after this.
I created a template with functions to extract 1x *.bin file which is 9.70gb in size. After that comes Shortcut, Redist, DirectX... And is works fine. BUT, after the extraction, after the shortcut and redists, the Finish page comes up, but when I click on "Finish" to close, it just hangs there. Tested a few times, and found that files are still being used by the setup.... Its still extracting files! I looked in the Install directory and files were still being created while setup hangs in finish page. (I have 6 pages, 5th page is the "Successful install" page, and 1 dialog just for asking "are you sure you want to stop installation?". Problem there?)

Is my *.bin file to big, should I split? Or problem could lie with compressing files with FreeArc?

As for the struggles, if I made too many changes in one template and then save, it would not save. Instead it would delete the saved template I want to override, and losing my template completely. I got around it after redesigning my template 5x over. Please look into it.

Having another problem. Still hangs at "Successful installation" page, but now when I click on "Finish" to close it, it hangs for a few seconds, then when it does close the files that were extracted gets deleted and uninstaller in "Program and Features" goes away. I think its a problem with the program registration.

The one time it didn't go to the "Successful installation" page, just hanged where it shows the setup progress, and the last thing shown in "StatusInfo" was "Registering Program" and I could exit the program right away, but again losing all the extracted files.

Note: I'm using UltraArc to make a FreeArc archive with .bin extention with no compression options. In ASC I added facompress.dll, facompress-mt.dll, unarc.dll, CLS-MSC.dll, CLS-precomp.dll, CLS-srep.dll, packjpg_dll.dll in setup resources, and my data.bin is set as Arc Extract.
What could be the problem?

*Edit: its not program registration, have tested setup. What else could it be?
I'm going to test whether its x64 or x86 option problem.

*Edit #2: Not architecture problem. Same happens for x64 and x86
*Edit #3: Run ASC or setup file as Admin does nothing. Maybe Windows 10 problem?
Sorry for sending such long messages, but its really bugging me. I don't know what else to try out.

When I put my installer's files inside an *.iso, and the I run the installer...erverything works, except that in "Program and Features"... When I try to Uninstall it opens the Installer instead of the Uninstaller.

Same goes when I run the Uninstaller.exe that ASC creates.

Everything works smooth when I install outside of an *.iso.

Well, you can go ahead and drop a bomb at RAD Studio, a real bomb. They are the ones who keep messing up with FMX resulting in old projects not being fully supported without errors. I really do not see a point in recreating this thing in Berlin 10.1, I haven't upgraded to Tokyo 10.2, the moment I finish it and upgrade to a new release, the new programming software will not be able to support old sources properly, this is the second time this has happened. First it was Installer Creator then now ASC, really tired of this. -_-

i have made a Setup.exe for Age of Empires II HD with 3 DLC's using latest version of Advanced Setup Creator and i have compressed the game with latest version of Mini Compressor AIO's advanced compress with best method: xprecomp+static2+lolz1/$bink=bink/$void=void/$photo=lepton/$ogg=oggre/$wavz=tta/$mp3=packmp3+srep:m3f+tor
output archive: Data1.bin and memory used: 2048 MB

But the Setup is unable to extract .bin file. Do ASC support Mini Compressor?
