Hello
i just got a new ps2 v12 and a matrix infinty modchip for it
i burned some games (from multi-rar, and its iso format) on memorex DVD+R, and a hddloader to CD-R to check if the chip works but i just get the red insert ps2 format disc screen. I used dvd decryptor & fire burner to burn them.
(DVD+R movies and regular Music CD-R's that i burned on same brand play fine)

the chip seems to be working. the version number "Infinity v1.39" shows next to the PS2 logo when booting original games and i can also get to the chip settings by Pressing circle and triangle on bootup. so the chip should be ok?

can anyone tell me what format media i need for games and stuff ? (+,-)(R,RW) ?

any info for what i might be doing wrong would be highly appreciated
i really wanna get this working right after going through 2 ps2's in the process, lol

thanks, tekn9ne

If the modchip was installed incorrectly would it boot regular games and still show the version # on ps2 logo and be able to access the chip settings???

Use the search engine, Media issues have been covered many times. Also, read the Ultimate info sticky as well as the forum rules. If you make a direct backup from the original you should have no problems.

Can Someone just please tell me whether or not the new PS2's (v12) are able to read games burnt on DVD+R? or do i need to buy a DVD-R burner ?

Yes, they can read dvd+r. I suggested you read the ultimate info sticky and use the search engine because the info is there but most people are lazy and want someone to do it for them. I also suggested you read the forum rules because we dont tolerate piracy here. If you have games in the RAR format (as stated above) then you downloaded them and will be banned the next time you ask for someone to help you burn them.

yeah some people are lazy......
they just give you the runaround instead of just helping you out with simple yes or no answers....

they just give you the runaround instead of just helping you out with simple yes or no answers.... First off let me say this. I was trying to help you out and not ban you for asking for help with a obviously downloaded (RAr format) Game. Now you can do what you want but if you ask for help with these again or make another smart ass reply to my warnings you will find yourself banned from these forums.
