Looks interesting, the site is well laid out. Hopefully it lives up to its claims.

This is maybe a dumb question but... Why can't we do a working backup of a gc game working on a non-chip gc ??? What's the protection used ??? (bad sector, pc non-compatible TOC, weird disc layout... fu...)
Thanks

Gamecubes read discs backwards (from the outside inward) and backups are all burned from inside outward. Chipping a 'cube not only gets past all copy protection but forces the unit to read discs in a conventional manner.

You know back in the days peoples were saying the same thing about psone disc and dreamcast disc and it was NOT TRUE :( and I checked on my GC and the disc is spinning clockwise  exactly like a normal computer dvd-rom drive.
But if you're saying that it read in the normal clockwise way but from the inside to the outside... It's possible... when the game boot, the lens is checking at the exact middle of the disc !! Maybe there is the TOC or maybe it's reading backward.
But I think that it'll still be possible to do an image of the GC disc even if it's recorded in a weird way using a swap/reading and/or a swap/burnig technique.
So I think we must find another explanation.
Maybe a disc that have nothing writen froim 0-x and then at x+1 there is the lead-in and the begining of the disc.
Thanks to help me to find.
