swap chip problem

its an old chip that use to be in anouther ps2 I installed it in a frends ps2 cause I no longer need it but

the problem is it wont stick out the disc tray it started to do this after
he accsedentley terned off the power with the tray out from the chip being aciveated and after that it would not stick it out again

so is the swap chip compleatley fryed or is there something
I can do to get it to work?

Just rip it out and get a decent no swap mod.

Remove the chip, then see if the console works correctly.

its not my consose and the console itself works fine with or whithout the chip but when you hold down the eject button all it dose is the light terns yellow(as its sopose to) and after a sec or 2 you hear the motor struggle trying to bring back in the the already in disc tray

yea its ment to u have to quickly put the game in then use swap crap disks ask evo hes the guru at swap magic.

What chip is it? a no solder??

its the v4 No Solder mod chip of course

the v4 ones are very quier make sure you have plugged the little plugs into the mobo and onto the modchip and make sure nothings shorted out.

it is installed correctley like I sead befor it was working before he terned it off with it actavated
I did check it to make shure it did not nock itsself loose

If the tray ejects under normal use but not when preforming the swap trick then the chip is damaged. If it was a loose connection it wouldnt eject under normal conditions.

hey,

remember the chip wont activate till you put in the swap magic disks.

i think

open the ps2 and remove the modchip.then pug the connectors back in turn the ps2 on see if its all cool if so. turn it off plug the modchip back in and load up swap magic. Maybe the chip is faulty i suggest you give a modchip installer a bell and ask him to fit a proper mod (duo magic 5 m2 dms3). Then you be able to play games without swapping :)

thats not true if it was working it would eject if you hold down the eject button it is conpleatley unaware what disc you have in it or wether or not you have a disc in at all

and Im perfectley capable of installing any modchip myself
like I sead befor I have a dms3 im asking on the behafe of a frend

I just want ot know if there is anything I can do to fix this one?

just buy u another v4 no solder chip there only like $10 for the chip i bet thats the problem ;)

I knew the chip its self was the problem me and my frends are all very cheap so if there was a way to fix it I would

the 2 things i know the most about

o i dont buy from there eather much i just do alot of selling :) but there is great deals on there that u can catch if no one else bids on them or if u use word of mouth like me i usely can offer a price and most the time they take the offer and end the auction to me earily :) but now they made it were ever thing is in catagroys like ps2 mem cards is in (ps2 mem card) and ps2 games is in (ps2 games) and ps2 systems is in (ps2 systems) use to when u wanted ps2 stuff its all togather but not no more and it sucks cause if u wanted to sell like 4 games 1 duel shock and mem card they expect u to break them up as a bundle instead of selling all toagther and to top it off ever 2nd catagroy is 2x listing fees :mad: when i sell stuff i was getting over 1000 views on a page now im luck to get 200 on a 10 day listing its relly hurting peoples bussiness on there and on the ebay fourms theres alot of PO people posting there thoughts about the changes i belive it was over 400 messages on that fourm about this along with mine :p
