I bought a premodded PS2 Magic 2 and still can't get it to work with the copied games. I have tried all the suggested tricks such as holding the reset button. I think I am going to remove the chip from the system.
Two questions before I do this. Any last minute suggestions on what I might be doing wrong? The copies work on my modded PS but not the PS2. Some were copied with NERO and some with CloneCD.
Second, if I remove the chip, can I just cut the wires without it effecting the system or do I have to unsolder the chip?
If you BOUGHT a pre-modded system....
WHY WOULD YOU REMOVE THE CHIP!!!!!!
Send it back to who you bought it from....
Make them fix it....

I think the chip and install are fine. Either I am doing something wrong or the burn format is not correct for this chip. If I send it back I now they will say it works fine and bill me for all the shipping back to Canada and back to me again. I put so much money into trying to get this to work right it is no longer worth it. I only play about 3 different games and I have all them in original. If I pull the chip and sell it at least I can recoup some money.
PS The place I bought it was www.gocybershop.ca There service dept sucks. They basically told me it worked when it left their shop. I emailed asking for assistance with getting copies to work (as their website says) and they said copies were illegal and they couldn't help me. So then I asked for assistance with "backups" and they won't even return my emails.
Send me a e-mail.... I may send you a "know good" working backup of a PS2 cd based game and a PS1 game... At least this way we can be SURE if its the chips fault or your burnings fault...
[email protected]
Of course, these would be for "TESTING" purposes only....
Send me a e-mail and I will see what I can work out...
